This Weekend's Adventures!

So this weekend, I broke out my new coupon binder and worked some magic. *Let me start by saying this amazing basket purchase (below) for the Little One's room did not involve any couponing, just spotted some amazing end-of-season deals. I lost my receipt, so I will have to recall this as best to my ability, but the "baby things" baskets came in a three-set. The picture doesn't do them justice as to size and quality, but the largest basket really is just that- very big, this one I remember was orginally $29.99, the next one down was $19.99 and I believe the smallest was $12.99. I got these on sale for 40% off at Michael's. I found the "love" baskets in the clearance bin for 60% off (and paid $3.99 each! Normally $9.99!). Total, my bill came to around $82.95, after the sale and clearance prices, it brought it down to around $40, where I broke out my $25 gift card from my birthday last August, so I only had to pay around $16 for ALL of these great baskets! YEAH!

This Covergirl makeup was on sale at Rite Aid for "buy one get one 50% off". I also had a coupon for $8 any two Covergirl makeup purchases. So, I paired these coupons (I had two- from the 10/9/11 PG Saver) with the sale price. That mascara is normally priced at $8.99, the eye liner priced at $7.99, and pressed powder coming in at $7.99 as well. So this totals out to about $32.96 before the sale price. After the sale price and my (two) $8 off coupons, I paid $8.01 out of pocket! AMAZING! That's like paying for one item and getting the rest FREE!

This cute Liz Claiborne wallet I actually got for free (along with a few other items that unfortunately I cannot brag about because they are Christmas presents!)...at JCPenney! I had snagged two $10 off a $25+ purchase coupons. I was able to get two work shirts for under $6, and three other "unmentionable" items for less than $30! This wallet I thought would be fun to use as a $10 gift for any exchanges that may be coming up this season.

Starting a coupon binder!

So Collin, from Hip2Save.com, has inspired me to step into the true realm of couponing...so I did it and captured photos of the process. Here are a few tips to get you started:

First, you must purchase a three ring binder. Collin recommended the Avery 3 inch easy-turn, but since I am still a baby in couponing, I went with the 1 1/2 inch for now. (In hot pink, of course!). I found my binder at Fred Meyer for $9.49, which BTW, it a heinous price, but I was desperate for that pink!

Next, you will need to purchase some dividers (w/tabs). For now, I just picked up one packet of 5 subject dividers for $2.49 from Fred Meyer. I began my baby couponing adventure with categories like: "free, snacks/beverages, produce/food, household items, and hygiene/clothing/gifts". Feel free to adjust yours to your liking.

Then, I purchased some sport card pages (the ones with multiple pockets per page) for $2.79 10/pack from Fred Meyer (on sale). These will allow you to keep your coupons visible and easy to access. Feel free to purchase more pages as you need them. For now, I started basic. Insert these between your tabs and ta-da!

Finally, this is recommended and very convenient when needed: store coupon policies. I have begun by collecting the Wal-Mart and Walgreens store policies, just so I know what coupons I can/cannot use/combine when I get there. (Save yourself some time by going to Hip2Save.com and looking under the "New Here" tab and "Coupon Binder Videos" link.

***Also, Collin also has a nice little pencil pouch in the front of her binder to store handy items like a basic calculator and a pair of scissors. This will be my next addition! (see below for her entire take on the coupon binder!)

Does anyone have the answer to complete happiness? It's funny how our moral can be squashed so quickly, yet brought back up by time and good glass of wine. What determines whether or not we will have a good day at work, or school? I've tried the whole "get pumped up" thing....bump to some tunes, splash cold water on your face, or put your OTHER leg into your pants first for a chance. A good cup of coffee. Green eggs and ham. I try to think of how my life could be different, for the worse, then remind myself of all the joys in my life. I've convinced myself over time that its just a hormonal freak out on my end that causes me to ponder day in and day out why I need to be happy, and why I struggle when all I seem to fall back on is Monday thru Friday 8-5. Maybe its just an age thing. I mean...who WANTS to surrender half of their income to taxes, or spend your entire evening after work cleaning and cooking dinner. It's funny to think of the American Dream...and how its just not so much of a dream. I can't complain for the job I have, or the home I own, and what it takes to get to the top, but whoever decided 40 hours a week was a good thing? It makes you transfer your thoughts on a career, and getting ahead...that you forget what true happiness is all about. I think it just comes when it wants to. You can sometimes control it, I suppose. I love when my husband comes home from work and surprises me with flowers, and spends the evening watching a movie and cuddling. Somehow that piled up load of darks has that still small voice! So...I'm going to challenge myself this week. The moment my eyes open to that darned alarm, I will tell myself 5 things that truly makes me happy.

I haven't decided whether or not to document every day's "happenings", or rather just when something exciting unfolds. So, first we can start with New Years Eve, the day I took TWO positive prego tests and then spent my Eve sober while the rest of my friends had a good time, per say. Sunday, two days later, I took another test, only to get a negative. After reading many forums, I was sure I had either had a quick miscarriage or still pregnant. Surely. After my doctor appointment today for something entirely different, my doc informed me she would check my already given urine sample for the hcg hormone. Negative. So now I have to wonder why ..'certain things' were tender and sore and why I got a positive result, twice over. The mystery I guess, will never be solved! I can't decide if I'm happy or not. I think secretly I was hoping I was, by some freak chance. My mom was "fertile mertile", so why couldn't I be, right? Weird. Now I have to cope with reminding myself that its okay to drink caffeine, or wine again. (And that I dont have to clean out one of our spare bedrooms). On another note, I hate talking on the phone. Loathe it entirely. I'd rather be shot.

Alright...so once again here I am...trying this whole blogging thing via mobile. Please allow me to pipe in now and apologize for my cell's lack of a ''comma'' button. I've resorted to ''.....'' instead.

A new-found friend of mine Brittney (coincidently met in ...book club) sent me a link to her blog which in turn inspired me to recharge my own.

I had almost forgotten about you.

So a LOT has happened since the last time I logged on here. Where to begin...well...September 19th of 2009 on Bastendorf Beach in Charleston OR around 2:30pm I got engaged to my very best friend. Our tentative wedding date is June 26th of 2010 at a Butterfly Pavilion & Garden. Since then he has also become a full-time mechanical engineer for a local company. We have also purchased a new car: Honda Civic Si. So now we have the good-gas milage car...and my 10.7 mpg hog of a V8. I still love it- like the day I bought it. This week we will also be signing on papers to rent a townhouse! Our new neighbors are super friendly..about our age..and newly married- just like we will be. So for now it is all about pre-marital counseling and wedding planning. Honeymoon plans have changed & we are now vacationing in Riviera Maya (just a hop. skip. and a jump from Cancun) at an all-inclusive resort complete with honeymooner's package. Take it from the Roseburg girl who only knows State Parks in a tent for a vacation. I have never seen Disneyland nor anything remotely tropical...so this is bound to be a culture shock. I can't wait. Knock me off my feet Mexico- please! In the midst of all this honeymoon talk I forget to elaborate on the amazing man I am about to marry. I could go on for pages...or you could just resort to my former blog postings and see this hunk-of-a-stud yourself.

Speaking of this hunk-of-a-stud. Of all things I am worried about over married life...I am completely tossing and turning at night thinking about what I am suppose to feed this man till death do us part. Cooking makes me nervous.

Forgive me (in advance) for the lack of grammatical & punctuational correctness as I am attempting to Blog via mobile.

So I'm reading this book by Gary Chapman called ''The Five Love Languages''. Chapman describes 'how to express heartfelt commitment to your mate' by way of 5 different things: Quality Time. Words of Affirmation. Gifts. Acts of Service. Physical Touch.

Needless to say- I recommend it to anyone and everyone whether you're married or not. The kind of love he talks about can be applied to friendships...your work environment...church...just in the way you treat people & how they want to be treated. Not everyone's love language is the same- which Gary says unfortunately results in divorces and split families.

I picked this book up at our local Christian Bible book store for about $15...but my guess is you might score a good deal on Amazon or EBay.

And yes! I read too much. I'm still working on the Left Behind series...im now on book 9 out of 12. I'm still working on 'Walking With God'. What else am I going to do for 8 hours a day? Do get the book! And DO share it w/everyone around you!

Sometimes when you least expect it (or when you choose to neglect what's coming to you all along), life throws you a curve ball. It doesn't always have to be a bad one, no one ever said a curve ball was a bad thing, just another move in the game of life to mix things up a bit...make it interesting.

You can put things off as long as you want to, but it only builds up more and more, the more you choose to do so until the pressure is so incredibly strong, everything else, important or not, becomes obsolete. You know it's there, and so does everybody else. I find myself "weighing my options" in most every situation. Perhaps that's my way of coping with tough decisions that come my way, but for the most part, it generally works. I'm stuck in a scenario where I have weighed my options to either a) follow my heart and go with what I know is right or b) be stubborn, stay behind and be miserable yet..content in some factors.

It's easy to be a in comfort zone. And it's even easier to want to stay in it. We can't always live life in a place that makes us feel warm and fuzzy..who knows..we could be missing something great on the other side. Sometimes we have to jump on the train and follow the long road ahead.

Take risks in life, and don't be afraid to be happy.

Today, I am thankful for: Bible group, prayer, warm apple candles, VS lotion, socks, and fleece blankets.

I DO!!

Since the day I met you, I knew there was something very unique about you. About everything about you. I loved the way you talked to me and smiled at me…even in my childish immature ways. And I know I was nothing more than an annoyance to you (and Ryan). Every night at camp was dreadful, because I knew at some point during the night, I would have to leave you. Every morning was a blessing, because I knew once again I would get to see your smiling face! Of course, not being quite yet a teen, I was smitten with any boy that paid any attention to me in the least, and you gave me more than the other boys, so you were always my favorite. I was sad because I was aware that once camp was over, those little butterflies flying around in my stomach would soon collapse from our soon-to-be growing distance apart. And I couldn’t imagine never seeing you again- or at least until next year’s church camp took place. A little birdy revealed to me that you actually lived in Roseburg! I was so excited! From that point on, our relationship kind of flourished- awkwardly. I was first friends with Tab. From Tab I met Jordan, plus Jared and Rachel. I remember spending Graffiti together with a group of our friends (I miss your Jeep) for years. We spent countless movie nights side by side and went on many riding trips. It’s amazing to find that our favorite hobby brought us together, and at one of the places we love the most. On January 19th of 2008, I met my best friend and saw him in a whole new light. Fate, I believe, played a large roll in the beginning of “You and I”. The night before, we had plans to go to the dunes with Jordan and Pickens. Jordan ended up having to go back to school, and Pickens remembered he had to work the next morning, so, that left the two of us. We were so anxious to go, we just decided to meet up at your house, load up your quad and drive to the coast! I remember how awkward, yet no-so-much the drive over there went. We talked about a whole line up of things…the way your truck sounded (and smoked) when you fired it up, all kinds of engine stuff (that went WAY over my head)…but I listened and pretended to understand, because I knew that’s what made sense to you. We got so excited because everyone in Roseburg said the weather was going to be terrible at the coast (it was raining in town), however, about halfway there, the sun shined so bright we could hardly see. More serious conversations fell, and I remember becoming frustrated with my history of relationships (mainly just frustrated that I didn’t have you), and asking you “is there something wrong with me? Am I doing something wrong?” You kept assuring me I was doing nothing wrong, but just attracting all the wrong people. I kept hinting at what you might be looking for in a girlfriend. You reminded me of how much I “matured” over the years, blah blah blah. We talked about that most of the way to the dunes. We had a great day. The sun shone most of the day, and sprinkled the rest. We rode for a couple of hours at Horsfall and took a lunch break to Taco Bell, as we usually did when we went to the coast with friends. After Taco Bell, we drove back over to ride again, only this time, it was raining harder. We sat in your truck watching the rain fall for at least a half an hour, picking up where our conversation left off earlier. The rain didn’t calm down for a while, so we decided to go to the end lot and walk out to the beach. We walked around talking for a while, and checked out the wrecked ship stuck in the sand, and laughed about how we could easily pop a tire riding on that beach! Once the rain slowly died down, we headed back to truck and stopped midway on the little wooden walkway they had built leading up the beach entrance. We had a conversation talking about how good of friends we’ve become over the years, how much we’ve grown up, were alike, and how much we’ve experienced as individuals. We were glad to be able to talk again after about a year of ‘solitary confinement’. We went back to the dune entrance and rode some more. I remember night time fell and we decided to go to Spinreel and do a little night riding. We both knew it was crazy because no one was out there in the event we needed help, but we were young and dumb! We did it! We unloaded the bike in the rain and went for it. The very first large dune we came across was entirely too steep, for any quad really. We plunged into the sand and I fell backwards as the bike came to a sudden stop. The dune was as vertical as it gets. We laughed, after we realized neither of us was hurt, got back on the bike, and took off to head back to the truck (it was safer there). It was a long, eventful, yet successful day. We grew a lot in our friendship and brought our comfort level back to where it use to be and then some. We spent about a year forbidden to talk to one another, and yet it felt like it was just a day. The first half hour of the drive was silent. We both knew what each other was thinking, but neither of us wanted to be the first to fess up. Finally, out of nowhere, you spoke up. The first line out of your mouth was “So, I want to know how you feel about me. As in, you and I.” I pinched myself like they do in the movies. I just knew this wasn’t happening. I had been head over heels for you for years, but just came to realize that nothing would ever come of it. I had convinced myself that I wasn’t good enough for you, and that you deserved better. I sat there silent, and repeated your question in my head a million times over until it dawned on me that you were really being honest. “Say something!” you demanded. Hahaha. I wish I could have, but I was in too much shock. I had to roll my jaw up off the floor before I could muster up enough courage to answer your question. But I did. I could have talked your ear off with all the built up conversations I had ran through my head all day long. If you didn’t say something first, I would have. We agreed to slowly work our way into our newfound relationship, to “get to know each other better”. That never held true. From that night on, our relationship flourished immediately. Not a day went by that I wasn’t completely head over heels for you. To this day, January 19th of 2009, one year after our solo dune trip, I am still head over heels for you. This letter could go on and on and on, but you know what all fits into the empty spaces, and that’s what matters. I’m only reminding you of the beginning as I remember it like it was just yesterday. Fate put us through so many trials and tribulations from one relationship to another. I think the reason we were never satisfied is because fate wanted us to be together. It is perfect, because it was suppose to be. The best part is, we have so much more to look forward to. Our lives haven’t even begun yet. To many more years spent together…

Sandy Weekend.

Kay..so we decided to go camping on the dunes for the weekend. We got there and decided to go into town and get some dinner. Soo the boys grab the lock and run it through the spokes of their d-bikes and gas cans. As we're leaving, we see one more gas can in the back of my truck that we had missed, so they go to unlock the padlock and it just turns- it will not release. So we've got two bikes and three gas cans stuck in a line. We decide to deal with it when we get back. ...We get back to the camp site and try to work the lock some more. It really wouldn't budge. So luckily, we had two extra quads on board that they rode for our night ride until we could find someone who had a lock cutter in the morning. We get ready to head out for the ride and my battery was dead. I spent a good 15mins being lugged around the parking lot trying to get a boost. Anywho, morning came and the boys placed their credit cards as collateral in order to use a Polaris shop's lock cutter.

So we set out for our ride. Not a half an hour in and my boyfriend's exhaust nearly falls off and he loses a front fender, too. THEN, Kyle (one of the amigos) discovers his CRF250 motor has seized. A few of us ride back to the trucks and I aired down the tires in the truck for it's first trip onto the sand to come to the rescue. About 30 minutes later, we find the boys and pull the bike up into the back of the Ford. I pull the front of the bike up, and SOMEONE had the brilliant idea of giving it a good shove, jamming it into my knee cap and further damaging my previous 1,000 injuries to the SAME knee-never fails. So, we get the bike loaded up and are followed out by our other friend Reece, whom along the way busts his clutch cable. Shortly after he busts his clutch cable, his back sand tire pops.

We get back to the site and we all pile in the truck to return the lock cutter and get replacement clutch cable #2. To make a long story short, he broke that second clutch cable that same day, the generator in the RV wouldn't turn over so we didn't get to eat, and our trailer came unhitched from the truck on the way home.

(Okay, so the last one was fake). Aside from all that...we DID get a few cool pics:

Ohhh, Let Me Tell Ya Bout My Best FriendS!

Here's the story of some of my good friends, in absolutely NO order. My life would SUCK without each and every single one of them. In our lives we have people that make a difference. Well, these are the people that make all the difference in mine:

This is Zach. I met him when I was 12 years old, at literally one of the greatest places in the world: Camp Crestview. I had been working as the children's pastor assistant and she asked me to come and help her with being on staff at church camp. I remember Zach walking through the doors of the manor. And I also remember, we hit it off right off the bat. He has been a dear friend of mine ever since. We spent many vacations together on trips with our other youth group friends, etc. Needless to say, our friendship grew. There are so many things I could tell you about us and our adventures, but I would write a never-ending novel. Finally after about 7 years of friendship, we both realized something...and here we are almost a year and a half into an absolutely flawless relationship (I didn't even know such a thing was possible). But our love story is another blog. He is the BEST friend (and mechanic, haha) I have ever had in my entire life.

Then, there's Kirstin. I met her in 8th grade. We immediately hit it off. We spent hours in our math class writing ridiculous songs with a few of our friends for our "band", Pink Ice. Dear goodness. She was JUST like me! She was always so much fun to be around. She moved to Arizona when it was time for high school. It completely broke both of our hearts, and many things led up to her leaving. MANY, many things. Some good, some bad. Mainly just bad. We were there for each other through break-ups and life's little surprises. It's amazing to find someone in your life who will be gone for months at a time (sometimes a year), and they can come back the same person they were when they left. Things are never awkward between us, and she has always been and will continue to be one of the greatest friends I've ever had. There is so much history in our friendship, there would, again, be another novel. Kirstin also had a baby girl named Shalynn. Shalynn is also my goddaughter and one of the sweetest little girls you'll ever meet. And she has such a personality. I do miss you very much K*Boy. I miss swimming at the lake with you and Sammy, eating at Asia Gardens, our "ritual" at the Mall, and screaming at the top of our lungs to any song that came across the radio. Come home soon, kay? I love you.

And then you've got Rachel. Rachel is also Zach's older sister. Rachel and I became friends shortly after Zach and I did. We are all actually part of a large group of friends that unfortunately, is now scattered across Oregon due to college, jobs, and marriage. Rachel and I have stayed close for a very long time. She always makes me laugh, and from what she's said, I make her bust up, too. What are friends for, right? She's my shopping buddy, my stressed-out-after-work buddy, my Michael's coupon clipping buddy, my Hills buddy, my "soft-peaks" buddy (inside joke)...pretty much my buddy throughout everything. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have Rachel in my life. She keeps me calm, and proper..yet WILD AND CRAZY! And I am slowly getting her EXCITED about riding the new quad that her and her husband Jared (I'll get to him) recently bought. We have so many memories together..and they go WAY back! We still laugh about the time that we all went camping (you know, the one where I wrecked) and Tab fell asleep and woke up in a puddle with a soaked pillow in the tent! That camping trip was littered with so many funny and oopsie! memories. Anywho...I just LOVE YOU!
Jared. (Yes, this is Rachel's hunny- the dude in the picture right above this sentence). Apparently, he is my brother...or so people tend to think. I guess we kinda (?) look AND ACT alike, hahaha. I met Jared when I met Rachel, only because they have been together since Dinosaurs walked the earth. He just cracks me up. We laugh about the same stupid stuff, and finish each other's stupid sentences and swap some elbow when something gnarly goes down. Only a true friend would understand some of the ridiculous things that come of out my mouth, and Jared does! We have an odd understanding of each other. He's a stud. Pretty much just a stud..and a pretty chill guy. Him and Rachel (they come as a pair, you see) have made such a huge difference in my life. Without these guys, the experiences and adventures in my life would be so small and uneventful. We have spent lots of time together swimming, camping, having movie nights, routine Sonic trips, Frisbee Golf, finding crazy rap songs to totally distort, bonfires, riding (now that they got that sa-weet quad!), scrappin up in the mountains, and just enjoying the fellowship between good friends. Jared's the goof and Rachel simmers him down. Life just wouldn't be the same without you guys just a mile away!

Finally, there's Jordan. I also met Jordan through that same large group of friends from church camp (and just church in general). He brings out the hick in me. Well, actually, he brings out a lot of things in me. If there's anything you need to know mechanical wise: Jordan's your man. He has always been there for me and is always there to cheer me up when things just aren't going right. He always finds the right time to say the things he does and acknowledges even my smallest of achievements. It's good to have people like that in your life and Jordan fills in a good part of that gap. We have also shared many hysterical and unforgettable memories. He, too, was also at that camping trip years ago, which is the trip that really kicked off our friendship (now you can see why this trip was so important). I'll never forget the look on his face when I wrecked the Wheeler's quad and bust my face on the handlebars, putting my teeth through my tongue. "Dude! Are you okay! You don't look so good!" (as the blood is spurting out my tongue). It's always exciting to hear when he's down visiting for the weekend, because, like most of our group, he is off at college and working...so to get to visit (or go scrappin up in the backwoods) with him with all of our friends is a blast and moments to be cherished. Oh..and I'll never ever never forget the Obama muffin, the tarp, and the riding helmet pillow :) You are such a blessing in my life!

This was a trip, Zach, Jordan and I randomly took at 10pm to Diamond Lake. We took J's truck, grabbed the camera and loaded up the 50 for a night of fun! After hours of spinning cookies and riding the bike in a snow blizzard, we got home around 4 in the morning. I will NEVER forget this night!

These are the friends who make a difference in my life, both big and small. Not a lot of people go through their lives with as many close, amazing, uplifting, and inspirational friends as I have in my life. Not a day goes by that not a single one of them cross my mind. When I am sad, I just think of all the great memories we all share together and it's amazing how quickly doing something like that can just turn your frown upside down. Friends are important, and God plucked just the right ones off the branch to place in my lap. I give them a lot of the credit for the joy in my life. I hope and pray we always close and even when we're all old and wrinkly, we always hold dear those silly memories from years ago, and that we can continue to build new. Each and every one of you are an inspiration to me in one way or another. I think about them throughout my day, every day, and thank God for the little blessings he's placed in my life. These people aren't just my friends, they're my BEST friends.

I am ashamed to say I never did inform any of you of my recent LARGE purchase. After almost a year of having people lug my quad around on their truck/trailer, I finally sold my 30+ mile to the gallon Honda Civic and bought a 13.1 mile to the gallon Dodge Dakota, also known as the love of my life. It's a perfect truck..and yes, I am proud to say, I AM one of those people who rant and rave about their "rides" and how my life has changed ever since. Bahahaha.

So the Dodge got a bit of a make-over~

Well, finishing off TT season, I ranked #7 out of 16 racers as the only female. It was fun while it lasted. I am also currently #1 in my division for the OMRA supported Washington MX/GP series. In this series, we run Eddieville (in Goldendale, WA), Starvation Ridge (Centerville, WA), Heppner, Prineville, and Washougal. I must complete at least two more races to receive the title. I am 150 points ahead, so wish me luck as this season plays out. It will pick back up in September '09. Also, starting the month of June (through October), my drag racing will pick back up again. Last season I beat most of the 450R's, tied a couple times and lost a couple times and was, once again, the only female on the track. So my friend Kelsey and I have been riding her and her dad's mountain bikes around town and on the trails trying to gear up for Summer (and strength/edurance training for my racing). We decided again yesterday that we would like to go for another trip...only this time, we would do a loop all the way around town starting at the YMCA, going around Harvard, Stephens, Garden Valley, Stewart Parkway (past Red Robin) and back around again. So we get started and decide to go through the path going past the duck pond and by Fred Meyer.

We get to Fred Meyer and stop for a drink before our trip. Heading back out, Kelsey noticed her wheel acting funny, claiming that it was wobbling and bouncing up and down. Thinking nothing of it, we kept going. So we just about reach the VA center and all of the sudden this fire cracker pop! We immediately got irritated thinking someone driving on the road beside the bike path we were on threw a fire cracker at us (which, as most of you know, people in this town tend to generally do such things). But then I was taken back by the loudness of the pop...it sounded JUST like a fire cracker, only magnified ten times over. Really really loud. Our ears were actually ringing. I told her to pull up next to me so we could check out her rear tire she said she was having trouble with- and sure enough ,the tire blew completely off of the rim. So we had to turn back around and head back for the truck.

Well the bummer thing was, I didn't have a bike anymore, because the one I did have was taken over by my little snot sister (I love you. I do.). So basically, until further notice, our bike riding days were over. I decided it was time I got another bike, so when we get to the truck we just drove back over to Fred Meyer to see if they had any good deals on bikes. We miandered up and down the bike aisle, finding a few cool bikes, but of course, way out of my price range. Bummed out, we start walking out the door to hop in the truck and drive on over to Wal-Mart when I see my grandparents and my little sister standing at the checkout. We go over and visit with them for a few and told them about our adventurous afternoon...hahaha (you would have had to have been there for it to be THAT good- kind of one of those "one thing after another" ordeals). My grandma remembers her old bike that grandpa bought her for her birthday a couple years back. She said she never really rode it and that I could drive out to the house, pick it up, and keep it! I was sooo excited. So we drive back to Kelsey's house, get my truck, empty out the truck bed, broken bike and all, and drive out to Green.

As we round Kelly's Corner, Kelsey sees they have the mini carnival set-up in the Ray's parking lot. I had already been there the day they opened on Wednesday, but Kels didn't get to go, and this was the last day it operated. After a few minutes of convincing, we pull into the parking lot and buy a bundle of tickets (5 rides each to be exact).

We spend a good 45 minutes there, just acting like a couple of fools, which believe it or not, we are exceptionally great at. Then drive out to grandma & grandpa's, get the bike, mooch a fudge bar or two, drive back to Kel's house, drop her off, and FINALLY I get to go home. I get home and most all of the lights are off in the house and the car is gone, so I assume they're all playing tennis, so I turn around and go back into town and to the tennis courts back by the YMCA (I'm running in circles). I get there and see Zach's sister Leah and her friend...but no one else. So I call Zach to find he was home all along and even heard me pull up (can't miss that Flowmaster on the V8!), turn around and go back down the driveway. So I turn around and go BACK home again in my 13.1 mile-to-the-gallon truck to find Zach curled up on the couch watching t.v. and Randy on the computer! Good grief.

What a day. Thanks for reading...

My Life In A Blender

I wake up at 6:45am. By 7:49am, I am in my car heading down my apartment driveway to get to work by 8am. At 7:56am, I clock in at work, walk to the "secret room" to get the till key. I unlock the conference room door, turn on the lights, open the main door, turn the radio station knobby to "4" (loud enough so I can hear it over my mini space heater), grab the newspaper that the CFO gets every morning and put it in his box, and make a couple pots of coffee before everyone comes sliding in sideways in a hectic panic for their morning caffeine. As I walk down the halway to come to work in the morning, the phones are already ringing off the hook. I already want to pull my hair out just hearing them. It's no wonder I hate talking on my OWN phone. I seriously...hate phones...especially ones with 7 lines. Ugh. So I sit down to calm down the flock of calls, take care of the furious customers who didnt get their deliveried or what have you, and this all goes on for about an hour...actually...this goes on all day. ...Most of the people who call, are people from our other offices, and when they do actually call- they spend 10 minutes from the time I pick up the phone trying to remember who they called while there are 6 other lines going off the hook in the background. Each phone line rings twice, after the second ring, it rings in the back office...and if that happens, I get yelled at.

While the phones are ringing off the hook, I have a stack of old open invoices I have to delete. To complete these, it takes about an hour- so WITH the phones going nuts- it's double time. Ridiculous. I still want to pull my hair out. As we speak, it has been about 2 minutes since the phone has rang- that's a record. What's even funnier is as soon as I made that comment- three lines went off. Anywho, so I am deleting these invoices- staring at a computer screen, doing the same repetative movement for an hour or so. In the meantime, everyone is opening my door asking me if I could make another pot of coffee (which wasn't in the job description, mind you). So, I get up, gently (slam) my papers down and briskly (slowly, and angrily) get to the kitchen to make my children their coffee. They're so cute because even when I put up a sign telling them to turn the pots off if they are below half full or empty- they still do it...and they break, and the coffee burns- and I get the shotty looks. Barf.

While all of this nonsense continues, I have customers pulling up into the parking lot, which takes them 20 minutes to park because the parking lot is small and they cant seem to figure out how to get between the lines. They come in to pick up an order. So they issue is, I have to either call out to two different places to get them to bring up the order- the problem is- in order for them to hear me, I have to scream. Yeah, I said it...literally yell into the phone like a fool.

Then there's the dry ice fiends. I don't know what it is about the phrase "dry ice", but I want to cringe every time I hear it. Everyone wants it- and they think this is the only place to buy it- then they get mad at me when I tell them we do not accept credit cards, lol, like it's my fault.

While all this is happening, I have about 7 or 8 windows open in the bottom of my computer screen trying to finish my math or sociology homework. I have a handy-dandy lil headset so I can answer the calls with a simple push of a button, without having to slam the phone down and pick it back up every time. I like it. It seems to keep me slightly sane. It actually helps a lot. I'm in love.

While all of this is going on, I am dancing in my chair because I have drank 4 cups of coffee and in order to use the restroom, I have to have someone take charge of the "dear, sweet phones." I wish there was some button I could push that just put them on hold until I was available to pick up. This is getting to be a pretty big company- and frankily- one person answering all of the telephone calls to this joint (moi), is entirely one too few.

Finally, 1 o'clock rolls around- lunch time. One hour of pure bliss. Food, visit with the fam, get some fresh air. Good stuff.

I come back at 2, and do my half of the deposit and once that is done, I spend the rest of my work day doing homework while answering the phones and assisting customers with their pick-up orders.

Once my work day is over, it is my stress relief time at the gym- I either run on the treadmill half time and run on the bike the other half, or I go to kick boxing two days a week.

After that, I go shopping for my food, toiletries, what have you. Then I go home, unpack it all, wash my stinky smelly gym clothes, make some quick dinner (usually soup), and finally wind my night down with some more studying, then talking to the boyfriend.

REPEAT. The alarm goes off at 6:45am.

Soooooooooo anywho. I'm just sayin'.

A Rude Awakening.

I am growing up...much older than I was when Barbie Jeeps and Baby Bottle Pops were a must-have. My goal is to go to a different college (those of you who know what's going on know which one I am talking about, but for the sake of online safety, I will not disclose it's location.) My goal is to live somewhere else for now (and you know where), so that I may save up enough money so that I can afford to go to school there. Is anyone planning on paying for my housing while I go to school there? Those people who are now judging me, starting rumours, elaborating and steering from the truth...do they plan on paying my rent when I go off to this college? Most likely not- as I have been paying my own housing for the last year + now.

Unfortunately, in order for me to get my degree and to get accepted in to the Dental Hygiene program, I will be taking 20+ credits A TERM. In order to get accepted into the program, you must be full-time, committed and determined. I am done feeling guilty. There is no guilt left in me. I have decided that I need to do what is best for my future and my current conditions. There is no where else for me to go. I will not continue to live in a place that sucks if not all, most of my full-time paycheck...when I am only there long enough to sleep in the place. I am sorry for the people (Grandma and Grandpa especially) who are forced to hear the wrong side of the story- and for thinking I am moving there for all the wrong reasons. I am going by what I need to do...and someday, when the lies are done being told, and the stories and rumors that are floating about have left the table (like the Telephone Game), and I finally have my degree, those of you who feel I am making a bad choice will then be proud of me. You have always been proud of me, and there is no reason to stop now. There is nothing wrong with my decision. There are people (and most of you know who) who are telling stories and blowing things out of proportion. Jealously is clearly an issue- there's no denying that- and we all know it. I have lived my life as a God fearing person, and I will continue to do so. There have been complaints of me not seeing certain people on a regular basis or spending time with those certain people- but the reality of it all is- over 80% of my graduating class have moved away to go to bigger and better colleges that I could not afford. Their families are LUCKY to get to see them on Christmas and Spring break- alone. Even then- a phone conversation is a rarity.

If everyone cared about my life as much as they care about this extremely stupid and ridiculous situation that has recently come up- you all would know that I am busy, even now, working full-time and trying to do homework, studying, and preparing for exams- by making a scene out of a nothing scenario only puts more pressure and stress on me...much more than anyone my age should handle. If you want me to be successful, you'll let it go. I will not pass this term if I cannot focus on my schooling- and money will be wasted- and I do not want that. We all know, when we stop and think about it, I have no where else I could go...realistically. The option arose-and I took it. I want to save money so that I can better myself and go to college! I want to do that more than anything- why can't people understand? Oh there is just so much I could say to back myself up it's almost annoying.

I played out the pro's and con's- and I have made my decision, and it is this: I am moving; I am going through with it. I have prayed about it and I feel this is the best decision for me to make. If it were wrong, God would have stopped me dead in my tracks- and at this point- the gate is wide open and welcoming. I am moving to where I can financially afford to save up the money I need to go to school. Unless someone steps up to the plate and offers to pay all of my college fees (since they will be quadruple what they are now), and living fees, I will silence myself. However, as I get older, I want to do more and more on my own- and that way it shall stay. I want to do it on my own for the sake of saying I did it on my own when this is all over with. No one, or no one thing will make me change my mind otherwise. I am tired of living my life in fear of what someone will say or do...or fear of failing certain people. I am a good person, and I always have been. My morals and values have brought me this far- and they're not about to disappear. For the record, I am not Peter Pan. Unfortunately (but fortunately for me), I have to grow up. I have been out of my parent's house for over a year now. It was good timing when I did, because everyone knows I was not happy and was constantly struggling for freedom.

I am an adult now (and legally have been for some time), and from here on out I will only get older. And another thing- since nobody knows- I will be paying rent there, too. ...Only FAR less than what I am now. I am tired of seeing all of my hard-earned money go into nothing. All of it. Living paycheck to paycheck is a joke. I have tried it all. I have tried getting a roommate- I've even gone so far as to ask people who I haven't seen or talked to since kindergarten, or people I have met once or twice- because I was that desperate to get approval from my family. I am done trying to please anybody and everybody. So it is time for me to do what I need to do. There is nothing more to say. I will not be changing my mind, because it would only mean my future is at stake. And until the day comes when the people who resent me for it now realize this, I have nothing more to say to anyone. Holding a grudge will not hurt anyone but you.

Honestly? Could this phone ring more? Seriously? Can all seven phone lines fill up any faster? I'm about to go insane. This is also, mind you, day like 3 million that I have had these severely ridiculous head pains. I think I'm gonna die. If I do die, this is my will as follows:

Credit Card Debt: n/a.

Quad: my little sister Melanie.

Car: my little sister Melanie.

Laptop: my little sister Melanie.

Guitar Hero: Jared. (cause he's my brotha rock.)

Stinky Sweaty Gym Clothes: Good Will (cause we all know they will sell it for twice the original cost).

Shower Cap: my best friend Rachel. (just cause she got me one in Mexico.)

...And well, I guess that's all I am good for. So, upon the arrival of my death, I wish to be cremated and my ashes mixed with a Sonic Cherry Limeade (or Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks! Mmm. See yesterday's blog entry for details) and spread throughout the Oregon Dunes. Yes, please.

Now that we have that covered, on to the good stuff:

I must say that I am incredibly excited for snow. Believe it or not, I am preparing myself to go ice skating. Yes, that's what I said. And no, I have never gone. My goals in life are few but important. Someday, I hope to go to DisneyLand, Paris, Vegas, Australia, Hawaii, Mexico. Ah, let's just get a round trip ticket around the globe (is that possible?) Could you just imagine how much a ticket of that mass cost? My entire 401k? Which, brings me to another complaint, but I will save that for another day. Let's just say, at this point, social security will be squashed upon my coming retirement age.

Andddd another thing. Let's talk: dirt rain. Yes, it is possible, and yes, my little town did indeed suffer from it. I awoke from my slumber this morning (or lack there of) and out the door I go for yet again, another day at the office, only to find my car cover is soot. Now, I know I let my car get beyond unreasonably filthy, but let's face it- it can only get so bad before even the dirtiest of mall rats get sick of looking at it. I remember it being dirty, but not this bad. So I get in my car and blast the windshield wipers- only to smear the sludge further. Good news was, apparently, I was not the only one suffering from this disease, but my fellow co-workers (and the entire county) as well. It was gross. Luckily, it rained again and fortunately for us, it was clean and powerful enough to wash away the...whatever it was. It looked like some cowboy/hick/get r done/cattle hurdlin' stud muffin had his bottom lip cascading with Grizzly tobacco chew and just blew chunks across the globe. Stupid hill-billys.

I love you guys, really....I do....just keep it in your lip.

I start my morning off groggy...and it feels just like a Monday morning- only, this is Wednesday. Ugh. So I manage to flop myself outta bed and onto the cold carpet (is there such a thing? I'm only jealous because most good writers manage to mention the "cold hard floor"- but I have carpet- so...yeah.) Anywho, so I get ready fairly quick, most likely because I skipped my morning "MySpace check". I decided to hit the local Starbucks for a Honey Latte. Now lemme tell you what: these things are a God-send. Amazing, nonetheless, expensive, so it had better be good. I come along skipping ever so cheerfully up to the register and prepare to make my selection. Then it hit me: my worst nightmare. (It couldn't have gotten any more worse, really.) They discontinued the Honey Latte. The barista told me this with his cheeseball, toothy grin/smirk and I just about hit the floor. I would have hit the counter in front of me if weren't blocking my ever so dramatic exit. I stare blankly at the man...for quite some time actually. As the line expanded with more hopeful dramatics, the man, Chris was his name, forced me to decide upon something else. Terribly unsatisfied, yet parched, I make a new selection. Pumpkin Latte. Yes. It was close enough. It was rivaled with the Honey Latte last year, so I figured it must have beat the consumer reports. My experience with this sludge was that the barista put on whip cream and the whip cream turned to chunks and settled down at the bottom of my cup so that with every single sip, I choked...tasted like a wax ball. Gross. But, reluctantly, I gave it another shot- and make darn sure- that whip cream was not present. I waited at the other end of the booth and tapped my heels impatiently, while checking the time on my Palm. He scoots the Latte across the counter- and I take the first sip. YUM! HOLY COW! DELICIOUS! MORE! YES PLEASE! Seriously, absolutely divine. I highly recommend. America- great job, for once in a long time, you have made me proud. Way to rule out that Honey Latte. So now, this infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially number one on my charts. For a Venti, however, you're looking at roughly $4.10. No joke. I almost threw up a lil in my mouth, too. So make sure before you depart your local Starbucks location, you investigate the flavor first.

So now, I sit here...flipping through a US Weekly magazine to only be, yet again, disappointed. The man I once loved, adored, admired, and drooled over, failed me. On page six of the October issue: it hit me. Brad Pitt. O dear, Brad Pitt (moment of silence.) ......... Yes, well. So I read this article that he and Angelina Jolie refuse to be married until everyone had the right to marry. So he donates $100,000 for gay rights. Why Brad?!? Why?!? Is this just an excuse to avoid marrying Angelina so that you may marry me?!? Miss Ellen DeGeneres and her "significant other" Portia de Rossi claim that they are "thrilled to have his support." I bet you are. You see, the way I see this whole issue is, well, it's ridiculous and asinine. There are many people for gay marriage, and I, for one of the many that don't am more than willing to tell you why. For one, the obvious, I am a Christian. I believe God put Adam and Eve here for a reason. It was not Adam and Tom or Eve and Persephone. It was Adam and Eve. Man and woman. Now you can say that it shouldn't matter who a person wants to love- but I say it does. What if, by some crazy slim chance, that every single child from here on out is "born" gay? The world, as we know it would slowly, but surely, come to an end. It is unnatural- and to me and many others, just gross. I do know a few gay people, and I adore them! Terribly nice and friendly people- but that doesn't make it right. You can be a drug addict and be the nicest person, yet still be in the wrong. To make a long story short: Brad, you disappointed me...and I am no longer your fan.

Munchie Day- Is A Good Day.

So...I've recently discovered that I am a sucker for a good artichoke dip. While others in the office have been working their way to the bottom of the fruit and veggie trays- I have been devouring the pasty, ooey goey stuff since the lid cracked open. Though I know half of the ingredients are bound to stick to my insides for at least the next seven years, I cannot refrain. Good stuff- really. I could be more descriptive, but I'll leave it at that. Yeah...and I made cornbread and chili? Dorkfish. Whatev. I was proud.

I stayed up until midnight or later doing laundry and cleaning profusely. I'm sure my neighbor upstairs had a rugged night of sleep. Poor girl. My clangin' and bangin' of the washer and dryer door I'm sure was no blessing. But it's got to be done! Perhaps....earlier. Maybe? Ah, she's lived there and put up with me for at least a year now- so it must not be too bad, right?

Kickboxing is kicking my butt, to say the least. No pun intended. My calves feel like they are going to peel off the back of my legs, and my shoulder blades feel nearly attached. But goodness! I feel so much better! (Now if only this artichoke dip didn't replace the fat I thought I'd lost this week, lol.)

You know what really makes my day? Ah, I'll tell ya. So today I had the head honcho of the truck maintence shop tell me that he hoped that his granddaughter will turn out just like me someday. Although that's not the first time he has told me that, this time it was very meaningful. And ya know what? It's so nice to hear stuff like that. I don't hear things like that often- I give them more than receive them, and that's okay. It's kind of nice that way, because then it always makes it that much better, and more pleasurable to hear. Just the littlest of things like that make my day perfect. Thanks, Bruce =)

Something funny about shower radios that I have recently discovered... Haha. This makes me laugh- I don't know why- but it does. I always always always have to be listening to music- in the car, in the shower, in the morning when I am getting ready, when I go jogging, the like- anyways, so I've been having a heck of a time with getting the channel to stay put. It gets really fuzzy whenever I get close to it. So if I step forward in the shower to rinse out the shampoo or what have you, it gets super staticy! "My Jesus, my Savior, Lord there is none like kzshsshkzshsskzkzhskzkzzh" Lol. That's what I hear. But if I step back, it's super clear. Or sometimes it gets really quiet for a moment- so I'll crank it up. Then, the signal will come in really strong and it's like 10 times louder- to the point where I jump and the soap runs into my eyes- and I'm sure, awakes my neighbor. God help her. Lol. Is my head that big that I block a clear signal? Maybe that's how we get "music stuck in our head" haha. Everyone must have shower radios?!? What can you do.

Bitter-Sweet weekend, here I come.

Details of Life

We spend our whole lives trying to define our purpose: our reason for living, working, eating, sleeping, breathing, and repeating. Every day entails some routine endless task that- lets face it, no one looks forward to. There's people in your life that come, and people that go. Some people you develop relationships with earlier in life soon disappear and are never to be seen again. They change, as you do also. Some change with you. You discover that the things you believed to be faultless and innocent have secrets that eat you from the inside out. You find that people in authority have real struggles, just as you. You see different sides of people as you grow to develop a mind of your own.
Time is limited for life's little pleasures like video games, Saturday morning cartoons, concerts, and the like. I guess we just find that there are more important things to consume our time with. You meet the people who will become your life-long friends that are there with you through thick and thin. At some point, just after graduating high school, you discover the people who said they will always be there for you, just may not. You discover that there's more to life than SAT scores and winning "best dressed" in the yearbook. The certain talents that people are ever so blessed to have no longer threaten you, but impress you.
Ah…life's little treasures that truly take your breath away. You begin to pay more attention to the world around you: the sounds, the sites, and the smells. The Almighty Creator put so much time, love, care, and inspiration into our world, down to the finest detail- you and I. The things that once passed me by- catch my eye. The things that mattered, that went unseen are now being seen. Lyrics to music, and the thoughts that go through our minds as we take it all in, are now being understood. Perhaps, this is a mid-life crisis too soon? Nah. I think everyone who will read this has just about reached the point of their lives where the little things begin to count. Otherwise- they wouldn't have been able to read thus far.
A child is born, and we found them cute and cuddly, but pawned them off to their parents the moment they started fussing…but now, we begin to take in and admire what it took to get that infant where it is today- perhaps life threatening complications. Sometimes we have to take such risks and sacrifice our comfortable state to receive the most wonderful of gifts.
The coast is what inspires me most. Where most people get out and run on the beach, make a few splashes and are done with the ordeal, I tend to take a little more time to take it all in. Not a single coast trip passes that I don't fall to my knees, grab a handful of sand and not admire how much work God must have put into our world, and to make it more pleasurable for us. The bible verse "with the faith of a mustard seed" repeats in my head like a good song over and over to the point where you feel you could hear it no more. I want a faith like that. Not just the faith of a mustard seed, but the faith of a beach full of sand and all the creatures that occupy it. I can just picture God compassionately selecting each little grain of sand that ever so nicely cradles itself in my finger tips. Clouds and trees to me are no longer just clouds and trees- they are works of art: defined and surreal. This world is simply God's mural. As a child is being born, God begins His brush strokes. I can just picture God fluffing each little cloud, so that He can grasp our attention just for a moment to say "hey! Look what I can do!"
The wind that swept the face of the earth use to inconvenience me. Sand in the eyes is not my idea of a good time. Now, I feel as if it's just God hugging me, like He's putting his hand on my shoulder and walking along side me….leaving "footsteps in the sand." It's during these times that I daydream- of myself as I am now, walking around a very large pond surrounded by a grassy, open plain, sun shining, hand-in-hand with Jesus as He loving tucks the first grown daisy behind my ear, just like we picture the children in the story books. Sometimes it makes me cry out of excitement and anticipation. I come out of this daydream, only to be in another- only, this one's real.
It breaks my heart to hear people claim they don't believe, and it breaks my heart even more, to know it breaks God's heart to hear them say it. I struggle just to find the words to convince them, when there really is nothing I need to say at all- just walk out on that beach, grab a handful of sand and think. No big bang or ape-to-man theory can explain a miracle.
But well, I'm getting older, and I'm sure there are things that have yet to be unveiled to me, and now, I feel as if though if they came at me by storm, I have the strength the conquer them. I have found a place in my life where I am comfortable, happy, content, and looking forward to more. No, I don't do everything by the book. I don't do everything right, and I make good, solid mistakes- just as anyone else would. I strive to be the best I can, and to show Christ in all my actions. I try to see the world through the eyes of others. I'm at ease knowing I can put myself in other people's shoes. I hurt when they hurt, and I'm happy when they're happy. There is no time for jealousy or grudges. Life is entirely too short. My goal is to make the best of it, so that I am only more amazed when I reach Heaven. You see, if I find this world amazing- since it is my choice to make it so- then I cannot be disappointed for what waits for me. I can only be excited to see more. Be carefree. Stop and take in a breath of fresh air, grab a handful of sand- and throw it high, stop and make a shape out of the "God-fluffed" clouds, buy lunch for a needy person when you would not have enough for yourself, and show love in everything you do and say. Life is what you make of it.
Utilize your talent. If you can't find your talent, find someone else who displays an obvious talent, and just maybe, they will find one in you, too! My favorite quote goes like this: "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." And I hope (hope!), that I can stand tall in front of my God, and say, I cherished my friendships, I laughed and enjoyed the life you gave me, I learned to forgive, I gave grace, I took notice of your mural, and I loved. So just as a child likes to help their parents with a complicated task, I would only hope that in return, He would place the brush in my hand. Remember: the reward is always greater.

Define: Love.

How do you define "love"?

Merriam-Webster says "a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties; affection and tenderness felt by lovers; affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests; an object of warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion."
…But is this a term that can be defined? And by who is it defined? How can anyone put a description to the word? Perhaps it's the stereotype- or what people expect love to look like, or feel like. The media tries to give us ideas of what it should be- question what you're absorbing. Critical thinking is key! Develop your own morals...
Then there is infatuation. How do you know the difference between infatuation and love? They are defined very similarly and to try and distinguish the two is like trying to teach a newborn to walk. Who decides what is love, or what is infatuation? When you tell a person you truly care about that you love them- what do you think of when you say it? My perception of the word- as I think of it (without really thinking about it…if that makes any sense)- is someone you can laugh with, share similar hobbies or interests, always thinking of ways to make them happy, a steadfast, intense kind of friendship that simply means so much more, getting that "the-whole-world-stops" feeling when you're with that special someone, feeling completely and utterly devoted, faithful.
How do you value a relationship? Love does not make you feel miserable, rushed, uncomfortable, bored, hated, or (God forbid) sad. If the person you "loved" changed in their appearance- would you still "love" them for their personality? If I were ever to put together a dictionary, I would have to halt when it came to the "L's". Who gave me the right to define love? Is my definition of it similar to every else's? There has to be some sanctity in the person who can compile the words to define such a precious, indescribable word.
How do you know when it is the right time to tell a person you love them? Does anyone know? Obviously, a phrase like that should not be taken lightly- a word that is too extraordinary for description. It is simply a state of unspeakable happiness. Of course, back to reality now- no one can really be on "cloud 9," as such a place does not exist- it is simply a metaphor. I like to use to terms "ineffable ecstasy", or a "thing of untellable splendor." How on earth could you really give a good, plausible explanation for such a word? Every other word in the English dictionary seems accounted for.
Now here is a kicker: try putting it into an analogy! For example: book is to read, as television is to watch, as love is to….as love is to…*thinking*, *pondering*, *sighs*. Hm. Where do you go from there? Not only that, but just because you love someone, doesn't mean they love you back, at least not yet. Though you feel it, they may not. Then again…they might. When is the right time to say it? Timing is everything. You just might spend all this time considering proclaiming it, but worrying that they might not feel the same- but then again, they might be thinking the same just as you are. You feel it camping out on your tongue and exploding from your heart, but the fear of rejection overwhelms a nervous soul.
True love never turns out to be abusive or makes you cry more than you smile. Love can take over your whole life if you are not careful. Let it not take you over, but become a part of who you are. When you think about the person you love it should make you want to be a better person, for them. Would you bend over backwards for them? It should be somewhat like the innocence of a child: uninterrupted, and inexplicable.
So no, I cannot define it- no one can- nevertheless has the right to. It is up to you to take the initiative to define it for yourself. Make love a choice. Don't love your family because that is what is expected, don't love Christ because the Bible says so, don't love your friends because media says you should- love is by choice! Remember it is an unconditional, forgiving, grace filled emotion that is relentless yet undefined.

And So It Begins...

O how long I have needed to begin one of these. I tend to talk a lot, because, like most people, I have a lot to say and I conjure up a lot of things that most people don't- only- I thoroughly enjoy voicing any and all of my opinions, and most importantly- my thoughts...as ridiculous as they may be.

Speaking of ridiculous. I was on our local newspaper's website, only to find two gentlemen [with the mindset of young children, mind you] arguing over the spelling of ridiculous. Bizarre, I know. One guys spelled it "rediculous", and the other insisted on correcting him. It didn't help they were already fighting about something completely unrelative to grammar- so it was just fuel to the fire for the other guy. Kinda funny, I thought. Sometimes you gotta stop and think about the silly things we fight about, and how pointless it really is. My Grandma always told me when I was a little girl and I wanted something really bad, but kept changing my mind, she asked me if I would regret not getting it the next day I woke up. In most cases, I would wake up with regret knowing I'd missed out. But we could always go back to the store and buy it the next day. Sometimes, I find myself repeating that phrase in my head when it comes to the words that come out of my mouth- and whether or not I'd regret speaking them the next morning. God inspired my Grandma and my Grandma inspired me.

Anywho. The office is quiet- everyone's off to lunch now. I am just sitting here...typing away, drinking my coffee, which, by now, has gotten a tad cold, and I am thinking of popping it into the microwave for a few. Then again, my portable heater is warm, and I'm afraid if I get up now, I'll get cold again. There's a big board meeting going on with some of the hot shots. Ugh. Meetings stress me out. But, I am almost ready for lunch- and I will be long gone...for an hour anyways.

This weekend is bound to be bitter-sweet. As soon as I get amped about one aspect of it, I am saddened by the latter. We're going four-wheeling with a bunch of good friends, which will be a good last sha-bang before we all go back to college- or in some of their cases- new families. Zach leaves Sunday evening for school, and my heart goes with him! Though he reminds me almost every day, that he only has six months left.

O how God blesses me...and in so many ways. Sometimes I have to dig to find them. I recently discovered a really good song. A few actually. But the one that stands out most to me is "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath, a Christian composer. My iTunes count must be something of 100 over the period of three days. True story! My suggestion to you is: listen to it; every word. Never seems to get old.

I have several blogs from my MySpace I will be transferring over soon enough- since I am ever so behind on my blogging etiquette. I will need to get back into the swing of things- but until then, I'll post some of my aged work. Oldies, yet goodies. Thanks for reading. Till tomorrow...
