First, you must purchase a three ring binder. Collin recommended the Avery 3 inch easy-turn, but since I am still a baby in couponing, I went with the 1 1/2 inch for now. (In hot pink, of course!). I found my binder at Fred Meyer for $9.49, which BTW, it a heinous price, but I was desperate for that pink!
Next, you will need to purchase some dividers (w/tabs). For now, I just picked up one packet of 5 subject dividers for $2.49 from Fred Meyer. I began my baby couponing adventure with categories like: "free, snacks/beverages, produce/food, household items, and hygiene/clothing/gifts". Feel free to adjust yours to your liking.
Then, I purchased some sport card pages (the ones with multiple pockets per page) for $2.79 10/pack from Fred Meyer (on sale). These will allow you to keep your coupons visible and easy to access. Feel free to purchase more pages as you need them. For now, I started basic. Insert these between your tabs and ta-da!
Finally, this is recommended and very convenient when needed: store coupon policies. I have begun by collecting the Wal-Mart and Walgreens store policies, just so I know what coupons I can/cannot use/combine when I get there. (Save yourself some time by going to Hip2Save.com and looking under the "New Here" tab and "Coupon Binder Videos" link.
***Also, Collin also has a nice little pencil pouch in the front of her binder to store handy items like a basic calculator and a pair of scissors. This will be my next addition! (see below for her entire take on the coupon binder!)
